Yes We Can!

Now this is what I’m talking about. Tonight will go down in history… as the Health Care Reform has officially been passed.
The bill will reshape one sixth of the American economy, provide health insurance to 30 million people who do not have it, and stop insurance companies from refusing to cover patients with pre-existing conditions.
Is the Bill perfect? Hell no… but it’s a step in the right direction. And that is something that we needed. There are issues I have with it but overall I’m glad to see something moving forward.

Pistons trainer banishes Nike Hyperize sneakers

Arnie Kander, the Detroit Pistons' longtime strength and conditioning coach, says he's never seen as many ankle, knee and groin injuries as he has this season. And he's not kidding. From opening night to mid-December, three different Pistons guards — Richard Hamilton(notes), Ben Gordon(notes) and Will Bynum(notes) — all missed time thanks to buggered ankles. What's that sayin'? Two's a coincidence, three's a trend.

So, like any good NBA trainer who moonlights as a private investigator, Kander donned his deerstalker hat and overcoat, smoked a pipe, and quickly figured out that it was a specific brand of sneakers — *COUGH* Nike Hyperizes *COUGH* — that were making the Pistons' ankles go lame.

Ruff Ryders Reunion LP Coming Soon

Ruff Ryders CEO Waah Dean told HHW that Ruff Ryders Evolution: Generation I is nearly complete and is expected to drop during the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. Ride Buy or Die.
“We got a couple of nice joints.  It’s gonna be a mixture of the old and new… we got this joint called “Family.” We got a remix on it too and we want to launch the compilation with that. It’s expressing a lot of how families should move and how they should roll…We’re  gonna feature our established artists, new artists and we’re gonna remix it and just really unify the family thing, bring back the foundation.  We have collaborations songs that we did with The Lox and Cassidy and we get a song from each artist and let them express themselves. I’s gonna be a decent album, we’re gonna do that one independent and we may even take it upstairs (to major label) to do that on a whole other level. This album is really going to be about coming together.”

Spider-Man 4 Squashed

Well, this is interesting - the long-delayed Spider-Man 4 is looking to have another setback. In fact, the entire goddamned thing is in the trashcan. Set to start filming next month, franchise mastermind Sam Raimi was said to be dissatisfied with the script's direction and walked off the project, leaving the movie already millions of dollars in debt. Sony, scrambling to keep the franchise going, is taking a Batman Begins approach and rebooting the series back to Peter Parker's high school days, ousting Tobey Maguire from the role and completely recasting. And, needless to say, Raimi is out of the picture. We'll have more news on the reboot, including casting, as it gets closer to a summer 2012 release, but this is certainly upsetting news to superhero movie fans. It's been ten years since the first flick, so maybe Raimi is right to hang up his hat and move on.

Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane Collabo Coming Soon

Since squashing their beef earlier this month on DJ Drama's radio show, Gucci Mane has revealed him & once nemesis Young Jeezy have a collaboration coming soon.

"I learned in the rap game, once you got heat people wanna stand next to you. Once I established myself as being a credible artist as someone who could make some money -- then in that time, the people wanna bring something to the table..." Gucci revealed in an interview with radio personality Big Boy. "Before the conversation we had collaborated, we had been talking. And we kinda had a mutual agreement together. Both of us are so big and got so many people that wanna party with us, it's kinda selfish to say we travel around the world -- I knew me personally, I didn't want that on my hands...We already collaborated on two songs, one is already out and one is debuting in a few weeks."
